Rooney's pen and ink drawings of scenes in the Fox Valley have been reproduced in limited editions and are considered very collectible due to their strictly limited edition size. The artist's style features great detail as well as a "storytelling"nature that endears her work to collectors. This artist's work in pastel portraiture is among the very finest. Her ability to capture her subject's personality makes her work in demand. This exacting portraiture utilizes a combination of sittings and photography. "Although I have worked in pastel, charcoal, tempera, and oil, the oil medium remains my favorite. It presents the greatest challenge but brings the greatest satisfaction", says Rooney.
